343 Industries has been hard at work preparing the long-awaited Season 2: Lone Wolves release for Halo Infinite's multiplayer, as they have recently revealed three new game modes that will be arriving next month. To the excitement of Halo fans everywhere, one of the newest modes that will be returning is the classic King of the Hill mode which has been a traditional staple of Halo's multiplayer since the original game on the Xbox and PC. This returning game mode will retain all the familiar mechanics that players have come to know and love while adding some tweaks to fit within Halo Infinite's core gameplay.

In a blogpost over at the official Halo Waypoint website, two new game modes aside from King of the Hill will also be included in Season 2, such as Land Grab, where two teams must capture three points on a map while locking them from the opposing team, and Last Man Standing, where up to twelve players must battle in a free-for-all and defeat opponents while having only five respawns at their disposal.

Also revealed in the blogpost are two new maps that will be coming with Season 2, known as Breaker (BTB) and Catalyst (Arena). Players will also be given a slew of settings and options to tweak these upcoming game modes for custom matches. While both King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing game modes will be available at the start of Season 2, Land Grab will instead be featured as part of a special event known as “Fracture: Entrenched” which will be available around a month after Season 2's launch. Once released, however, all of these game modes will be accessible throughout the rest of the season.
