Halo Infinite will release sometime in Fall 2021, high on Microsoft's priority list. Microsoft is looking to stay in the same direction they took with the Master Chief Collection. Among other things, this means that they will be allowing crossplay between users in the upcoming title.

WILL HALO INFINITE HAVE CROSSPLAY? YES

Halo Infinite will be the 6th main entry for the popular franchise and the 14th Halo game made. It will be following the story of Master Chief once more.

This was confirmed in Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty's post on the Xbox news page last April 29. Referencing their “player-first” approach, the idea is to build their community around games rather than devices. To that end, Halo Infinite multiplayer customizations and progress will transfer seamlessly across the available platforms.

On that note, the studio still intends to make sure that the game will adapt to the available hardware. That means PC gamers with ultrawide screens don't have to worry about compatibility. Halo Infinite will scale well with both graphics and display options as well as custom keybinds.

The studio also intends to make use of the Cloud to further develop the connection between PC gamers and console gamers. As part of their Xbox Cloud Gaming service, Microsoft intends to give PC gamers access to over 100 titles.  This is meant to be accessed by a wide range of computers, from low-spec computers to high-spec gaming machines.

For a game that was released on, and stayed exclusive to the Xbox, the Halo franchise has adapted well to the PC community. Hopefully, lessons learned in the past will help the studio apply its experience with the upcoming release of Halo Infinite.
