Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been in an alleged “incident” while vacationing in Mykonos. The 27-year-old has been transferred from Mykonos to Syros in a police vehicle on a ship after reportedly being arrested following the alleged incident with other English tourists at a club, according to Sky Sports.

According to ESPN, Maguire was detained after allegedly assaulting officers who were called in to break up a brawl between two groups of tourists.

“The soccer player was verbally abusive to an officer and then hit him,” a local police official said. “The three were resisting when brought to the Mykonos police station.”

Manchester United is well-aware of the alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos on Thursday night.

“Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment,” read the team's statement.

Following a semifinal defeat in the UEFA Europa League at the hands of Sevilla, Manchester United players have finally taking to vacationing after a long restart of their season.

Harry Maguire, who joined the club last summer with a Premier League-record £80 million ($104.8 million), is the world's most expensive defender after parting ways with Leicester to join the Red Devils in 2019.

Maguire started in every Premier League game for Manchester United this past season, scoring one goal for the Red Devils.
