It's throwback season for eight NBA teams this coming 2017-18 campaign with the league greenlighting the use of vintage threads for the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Phoenix Suns.

This was earlier noted by Conrad Burry of Sportslogo.net, which also stated that the throwback jerseys are these teams' fifth uniform option.

Outside of these eight teams, the rest of the league will have four sets of uniforms to choose from per a report by Lang Whitaker of NBA.com.

Instead of “home” and “away,” each team will now have four primary uniform “editions” from which to choose. The “Association Edition” will be the team’s traditional white uniform, while what was formerly the road uniform will now be designated as the “Icon Edition.” The two remaining editions will be revealed later this fall.

Burry, however, didn't exactly mention whether these classic uniforms will be of the home or away variety but suffice it to say that it's just another of the many reasons why fans should be excited for the upcoming NBA season.
