The Atlanta Hawks are looking into a body of former NBA guards to take the vacant post that former GM Wes Wilcox left upon his re-assignment within the front office.

Among them are former Detroit Pistons player and president of basketball operations Joe Dumars, former Motor City point guard and 2004 Finals MVP Chauncey Billups and two-time NBA champion and 1996 Slam Dunk Contest champ Brent Barry, per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The latter two currently serve as analysts for the NBA's family of networks — ESPN and Turner Network Television, respectively.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer relinquished his team president role, which would allow for any of these former stars to bring a team along with them to further structure the Hawks organization.

Out of the three, Dumars is the only one with front office experience as the Pistons president from 2000-14, bringing the city of Detroit a championship in 2004 after dismantling the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the NBA Finals.

The Hawks also intend to interview Houston Rockets Vice President Gersson Rosas and New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Hughes, per Wojnarowski.

Atlanta is at a pivotal, decision-making stretch with the impending free agency of Paul Millsap. The organization will have to decide if they're choosing to rebuild around other players or sign the dynamic power forward to a lengthy deal and structure the team around him.
