Part of the reason the Atlanta Hawks drafted Trae Young was because of his unlimited range. A lot like Stephen Curry whenever Young crosses half court, a defender better be on him, because otherwise, he will pull up. In the Hawks' practice facility, they have a four-point line that is used to help with team spacing, but for Young, it's a perfect spot to pull up and shoot from.

Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce said that during Young's pre-draft workout, he was pulling up from there. In the NBA, Young is going to have to hone some other skills, but the deep ranger is a good place to start.

The former Oklahoma Sooners star is going to have to adjust to the NBA, and it appears that Dennis Schroder is on board to help with that. Last month, Schroder had asked for a trade, but Pierce now believes he is going to be a big help to Young.

“I think Dennis will be a tremendous role model,” Pierce said Monday via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’ve talked already about him and Trae not only coexisting, but him being a leader for Trae and helping him on the court. Dennis has had a lot of success in the league and he’s a guy that still has a lot of growing to go, and Trae is just trying to follow in those footsteps.”

It will be an interesting dynamic to watch if these two can co-exist or if there will be a rift early on that makes Schroder request another trade.
