If you ever run into Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and ask him who is the best player of all time, he's going to say Steve Nash.

Young says Nash is his favorite player and that he tries to model his game after the Hall of Famer.

It would be one thing for Young to declare Steve Nash the best point guard of all time. But ask him about the Greatest Player of All Time debate – MJ, LeBron, Wilt, Magic, Kareem? – and it’s quite another to hear him say that his answer doesn’t change.

“If anybody asks me who the best player of all time is, I tell them Steve Nash,” Young said. “That’s my favorite player, and it’s always been my favorite player.

“I definitely try to model my game as much as I can to Steve.”

Young is only in his second-year in the NBA, but he's already established himself as one of the best passers in the game. The Hawks' floor general was fourth in the NBA last season in assists per game (8.1). This season, Young is averaging 9.1, good for third place.

In the 10 games he has played in this season for the Hawks, Young is putting up MVP-type numbers. He’s averaging 27.3 points while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Nash has to be proud of the way Young is playing for the Hawks and carrying on his legacy as a pure point guard who loves to pass first, but can also score with the best of them.
