Cam Reddish is confident that he could make an immediate impact for the Atlanta Hawks in his rookie season.

Reddish, who was selected 10th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, believes that the Hawks is a “perfect fit” for him. The 19-year-old forward feels that he will be in an ideal situation in Atlanta because of its young core, Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The Hawks will be parading a much younger lineup next season led by Trae Young, who finished runner-up to Luka Doncic in the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year voting. Kevin Huerter and Omari Spellman are also expected to contribute more with a year of experience under their belt.

Aside from Reddish, the Hawks added a promising piece in De'Andre Hunter, who they selected with the fourth overall pick they acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans, and Bruno Fernando, the 34th overall pick in the draft. Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce expressed excitement over his rejigged young core for next season.

“The competition aspect of it. Kevin gets Cam every day. Cam has to guard Kevin every day,” Pierce said. “I can’t ask for a better situation. Some of these guys want to play with the basketball in their hands.”

The Hawks have nothing to go but up after finishing with a 29-53 record during the 2018-19 NBA season.
