Newly acquired Atlanta Hawks veteran forward Chandler Parsons told Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore that he has “a lot left” in spite of the small forward's three-year dip.

Parsons has only appeared in 95 games over the last three seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies due to complications and lingering effects of right knee surgery, which prevented Parsons from being fully healthy at the end of his 20s.

The Atlanta Hawks traded for the eight-year NBA veteran Parsons in exchange for center Miles Plumlee and forward Solomon Hill, the latter of which they acquired in the draft day trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Prior to that, Parsons signed a four-year deal in July 2016 with the Grizzlies as a free agent. He's due to earn north of $25 million in 2019-20 but is an expiring contract for the Hawks.

Vivlamore also added that Parsons said he's “still an efficient, good player in this league.”

Parsons has averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in 435 total appearances, shooting 46.2% from the floor, 37.3% from three-point range, and 71.3% from the free throw line.

The Hawks are absorbing Parsons' immense contract as they continue to develop their young talent, which includes rising star and Rookie of the Year runner-up Trae Young, last year's fifth overall draft pick, big man John Collins, and this year's draft picks fourth overall pick Virginia forward De'Andre Hunter out and 10th overall selection swingman Cam Reddish out of Duke.

Atlanta also has solid depth piece Kevin Huerter, the 19th overall pick last year who shot 38.5% from deep during his rookie season.

The Hawks are hoping Parsons provides some kind of veteran mentorship alongside Evan Turner.
