The Atlanta Hawks were dealt a major blow with the news that came Wednesday morning as it was announced that De'Andre Hunter will miss the rest of the season and undergo surgery to his lateral meniscus.

Hunter missed nearly two months from the end of March until mid-May and made his return to the court. Hunter played a key role in their first-round series against the New York Knicks, and now the Hawks will have to find a way to survive without one of their key starters.

Hunter played just 23 games during the regular season but had three double-digit performances in the first-round against the Knicks as the Hawks went on to beat New York in five games. The former first-round pick out of Virginia has shown flashes of his potential in Atlanta, and this injury could be tough for the Hawks to overcome.

After all, the Sixers are the top seed in the Eastern Conference for a reason, and Joel Embiid is looking to impose his will on any given night.

The Hawks and 76ers are currently tied in the series at 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for Friday. It will be interesting to see how Nate McMillan adjusts the lineup with Hunter absent after inserting Solomon Hill, who played just eight minutes in Game 2.
