Atlanta Hawks center Dewayne Dedmon will be out from three-to-six weeks with a left tibia stress reaction, according to Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Forward Mike Muscala is also out for tomorrow's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Luke Babbitt is listed as probable for the game.

Dedmon is coming off a nine-point performance against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, but suffered the setback the following days. There is no belief that the injury was suffered in a specific incident, but the big man complained of shin pain recently, which prompted the MRI exam performed earlier today.

This could bring an opportunity for the likes of Muscala and Miles Plumlee for a starting nod within Mike Budenholzer's rotation, while a boost of minutes to rookie John Collins seems likely after he has impressed through his early start this season.

Dedmon had provided stability upon a young core with averages of 11.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game. His ability to knock down shots from deep was an added bonus to a team that was in need of perimeter scoring, able to stretch out the defense even more.

An efficient all-around player, Dedmon shot 60.1 percent from the field this young season, a hard skill to match for any replacement.
