Is Hawks' Bogdan Bogdanovic playing vs. Cavs

Bogdanovic went through shootaround on Friday morning. Hawks head coach Nate McMillan said Bogdanovic “should be okay,” but he's still a game-time decision, per The Athletic's Chris Kirschner.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a solid game in the 132-103 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, pouring in 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting off the bench. The Hawks outscored the Hornets by 17 points in Bogdanovic's 25 minutes.

Bogdanovic had a solid season for the Hawks, his second in the ATL. He averaged 15.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point range. His efficiency was down from last season, though, as he knocked down a career-high 43.8% of his triples in 2020-21.

The Hawks made a surprise run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but they stumbled for much of this season before recovering to finish with the No. 9 seed. Atlanta then blasted Charlotte to set up this elimination game against the No. 8 Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Hawks could really use Bogdan Bogdanovic's scoring punch off the bench in this game, and it does indeed look like he'll be playing tonight against the Cavs. However, it seems that won't be confirmed until right before the game.
