Atlanta Hawks guard Jeremy Lin has recently confirmed his willingness to represent China in the international basketball stage, should he get an official invite from the Chinese Basketball Association.

Lin is currently in China for a charity game which features former Brooklyn Nets teammates Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Spencer Dinwiddie. Addressing the media, Lin did admit that the prospect of playing for the China national basketball team would be something he would consider.

Lin was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and is an American citizen, but has Chinese roots. His parents were both immigrants hailing from Taiwan, which is a Chinese state. This technically makes him eligible to play for China.

Lin has spent the past two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, but his time with the club has been anything but productive. The 29-year-old was only able to suit up for the Nets for only 37 contests in that span.

Several injuries have kept him from reaching the heights of the Linsanity craze back in the 2011-12 season with the New York Knicks. Last year, Lin injured his right knee during the Nets' opening night matchup against the Indiana Pacers, and eventually had to miss the rest of the season.

Last month, Lin was traded by the Nets to the Atlanta Hawks along with future draft picks, in exchange for Isaia Cordinier and a 2020 second-round draft pick.

With his injury behind him, Lin will be looking to bounce back this year with the Hawks. He will need to do everything he can to up his stock as he enters free agency next summer.
