Kobe Bryant's new ESPN show, Detail, is a way to get inside the mind of how the NBA superstar sees the game. Bryant takes fans on a film room journey to break down plays.

His most recent episode of Detail discussed Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and his performance during the Las Vegas Summer League. Bryant examined a pick and roll action where Young missed a deep, contested two. Bryant points out that he had the option to throw a pass over the opposing defender right to his big who is diving down the lane.

That was the right play on that particular set, but Bryant continued to break down all the possible options for Young.

Young made sure he let Bryant know that he was paying attention during this film room session. Young took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the Laker legend.

NBA players always seem to have the utmost respect for the superstars of the game—past or present. Young is a neophyte with tons of upside, but certainly could use some coaching.

Bryant's new show Detail is a great way for the average fan to up their basketball IQ, but Young is proof positive that Joe Schmo isn't the only one tuning in to watch Bryant's breakdowns.

Young isn't the first player to express gratitude towards Kobe for his film room sessions. Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics also tuned in to watch Bryant break down his game.

The Black Mamba seems to be turning into a mentor of sorts for a number of young players throughout the league. Trae Young is just the latest.
