Atlanta Hawks rising star Trae Young had another explosion on Sunday night, as he casually dropped 31 points against the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to the contest, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel did appear to provide a bit of a foreshadowing of things to come when he described how difficult he expects things are going to be, as his team attempts to contain a surging Young in their upcoming matchup.

True enough, Young was indeed able to torch the Lakers' much-improved defense, with the sophomore going 11-of-22 from the field en route to his team-high 31-point performance. For good measure, the youngster also added a couple of 3-pointers, three rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 39 minutes of play. Young did turn the ball over eight times, though, which goes to show that it's not as if L.A.'s defense on him was all that bad.

Despite his heroics, however, Young and the Hawks proved no match to a powerhouse Lakers side, who established a sizable lead early on and never looked back. LeBron James led the way once again for his team, accounting for a game-high 33 points (on 13-of-21 from the field), six 3-pointers, seven rebounds, 12 assists, a steal, a block, and zero turnovers in 33 minutes of action. That's another dominating performance from the 34-year-old, who at the moment, is not at all looking like a washed up has been whatsoever. The game ended with another win for L.A., 122-101.

Young and company will have two nights off, but are in for another tough matchup on Wednesday, as they host the Milwaukee Bucks in what should be another entertaining contest.
