The Atlanta Hawks have struggled to find any sort of rhythm through the first quarter of this season. In fact, the team is currently holding a 6-23 overall record, which is last in the Eastern Conference.

A recent report suggested head coach Lloyd Pierce might be on the proverbial hot seat soon, and Hawks president Travis Schlenk has addressed the situation:

“Lloyd is fine. Lloyd is not on the hot seat,” Schlenk said, via The Athletic.

Pierce joined the Hawks in May 2018. He was fresh off a playoff run as an assistant coach with Philadelphia, where he served under Brett Brown. Atlanta was looking for a candidate with experience in rebuilding, and the team felt confident that he was the man for the job.

While the Hawks have been awful, Pierce isn't worried about his job:

“I think more people are worried about me than I am,” Pierce said. “I took this job because I came from Philly, and I came from Philly where the situation pales in comparison to this. If Trae’s frustrated, guess what, I’m frustrated, too.”

The Hawks are currently riding a six-game losing streak, which doesn't make things easier for Pierce, and owner Tony Ressler is apparently not in good spirits. While Pierce's job may not be in danger yet, that may change if Atlanta doesn't start winning once John Collins returns from suspension next week.

The Hawks will look to get back into the win column on Saturday, when they'll face off against the Brooklyn Nets. Tip-off inside the Barclays Center is set for 6:00 p.m. ET.
