After dropping a career-high 50 points against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat on Thursday night, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young made sure he fired some shots of his own in their budding Twitter feud.

Two months after Butler chastised Young on social media for celebrating prematurely, the 21-year-old clapped right back on Thursday.

Back in a December game between the Hawks and Heat at the American Airlines Center, Young was caught on camera mouthing off “It's Over” after his team held a six-point advantage with under a minute left in regulation. The home team, however, stormed back in the dying seconds, as Butler forced the game to overtime with a booming triple.

The Heat completed the comeback in the extra period and ran away with a 135-121 come-from-behind victory. Butler was anything but humble after the win, as he called out Young on social media shortly after.

Trae Young had to wait two months to get his revenge, but he certainly did so in a big way. He became the first Hawks player since Shareef Abdur-Rahim to eclipse the 50-point scoring mark.

Young and Butler, meanwhile, are two of the best players in the league today. Both were recognized as All-Stars this season and were even teammates with Team Giannis.

Team success, however, is a whole different story. The Heat has been the biggest surprise team this season with a 35-20 slate for fourth place in the East standings. The Hawks, on the other hand, won't be seeing the postseason this year, holding the third-worst record in the league at 16-41.
