Less than a week after Memphis Grizzlies rising star Ja Morant compared Trae Young to a hobbit, the Atlanta Hawks superstar exacted revenge on Saturday with a “too small” gesture of his own.

Blowing by Morant on his way to the basket, Young did not only secure the Hawks' victory over the Grizzlies with the score but also added fuel to the budding rivalry between the two guards.

Sometimes being small is a matter of perspective. Check out the savage comeback:

Holding the ball at midcourt, Trae Young rolled away from the pick set for him near the logo as he took Ja Morant off the dribble towards the basket. With Morant falling behind the Hawks star at the arc, the Grizzlies were forced into an emergency rotation from the weak side. Young was able to contort his body away from the interior defender and scooped the ball for a gorgeous layup.

Scoring 36 points on the night, Young not only bested Morant on the play but also outscored the Grizzlies guard by eight points as the Hawks earned their second victory of the season to stay undefeated. Memphis, meanwhile, has dropped their second consecutive game to fall to 0-2 on the year.

With the two teams operating in different conferences, it is possible that they will not play again during the regular season. As the league has only announced the schedule for the first half of games, fans will have to wait into the new year to see if they will get a rubber match between Young and Morant.
