Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young drew first blood by shushing the Madison Square Garden crowd in Game 1 after hitting the game-winning floater. Of course, the New York Knicks took offense and they're getting back at their nemesis with the help of fans.

Can you blame them? The Knicks made a return to the NBA Playoffs after decades of toiling in obscurity. The “Mecca of Basketball” was lit in Game 1. The atmosphere was electric, for sure. However, Trae Young came in to spoil the party in NYC, scoring 32 points then striking a dagger into the Knicks' heart in crunch time.

Young became public enemy No. 1 in New York, so much so that Mayor Bill de Blasio called out the Hawks point guard for his foul-hunting antics, citing a similar comment made by Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash in the past.

It remains to be seen if the tactic will bear fruit for the Knicks. After all, Young is one of the best young court generals in the league. His propensity for taking—and making—gym-range shots screams confidence. For all we know, it may very well backfire against New York.

Young has made huge strides this season for the Hawks. His maturity is commendable especially since Nate McMillan took over the coaching reigns from Lloyd Pierce.

The Knicks' fans are doing their part. In the end, it will be up to defensive genius Tom Thibodeau to concoct a plan against Young and the Hawks.

These two teams' first-round series is still long so better grab those popcorns.
