The careers of Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks continue to be intertwined as they now share a historic NBA record.

In the Hawks' impressive 123-115 win over the Denver Nuggets at State Farm Arena on Sunday, Young tallied a remarkable line of 35 points, six boards, and 15 assists in 36 minutes of action. This marks his fifth time recording such feat, tying his good rival Doncic for second-most by a player aged 22 years old or younger in NBA history, according to ESPN Statistics and Information.

Only Hall of Fame guard Oscar Robertson has more than the two young studs, doing it eight times before he turned 23 years old.

Young and Doncic are both having phenomenal seasons, so they'll likely record more in the coming games. One of them will probably even top the Big O's record by season's end, and the other guy won't be left behind for sure.

Young was again unguardable versus the Nuggets, draining four of his seven three-pointers and shooting 10-for-19 from the field overall. In the times the defense tried to put the clamps on the two-time All-Star, he brilliantly located his teammates for pin-point passes.

His fascinating rivalry with Doncic will likely linger throughout his career. The two feisty playmakers are now considered the two best players from the 2018 NBA Draft class after famously being traded for one another.

Luka Doncic did win Rookie of the Year honors in their freshman year, but Trae Young finished a close runner-up as he immediately reinvigorated the Hawks with his fearless play.
