Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young went off against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.

Not only did Young lead the Hawks to an impressive win over the Sixers but the All-Star put up a stat line the NBA hasn't seen since 1993:

Young told his dad he didn’t want to attend the All-Star Game last season because he wasn’t chosen to play in the game.

That won’t be the case this season, as the Hawks’ floor general will be a starter in the game:

“And I actually had tickets to the game and my dad asked me if I wanted to go and I told him I didn’t. I didn’t want to go. I wanted to wait to experience that first time ever going to All-Star game on Sunday when I was in it. So for me to be able to go this year and participate, it’s God’s plan,” Trae Young told ESPN.

While the Hawks almost certainly won’t make the playoffs this season (worse, they are in contention for finishing with one of the worst records), the Hawks have to be happy that Young will represent the organization during All-Star Weekend in Chicago. As a starter voted in by fans, no less, and just in his second season — putting to rest any jokes about the franchise trading Luka Doncic (to the Dallas Mavericks) for him.

Young entered Thursday averaging 29.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 9.0 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line. Those splits will go up after his stellar game versus Philly.
