Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young was a recent subject of Kobe Bryant’s ESPN show Detail, which probably almost made the former Oklahoma Sooners hotshot swoon. Young acknowledges the attention he drew from the future Hall of Famer shooting guard by posting a message on Twitter to let Bryant know that he’s taking down notes.

And Kobe responded to it as well.

Trae Young had an underwhelming start to his Summer League campaign but still came away with a generally solid performance across the tournament. Young, in fact, is named to the All-NBA Summer League Second Team after averaging 17.0 points, 6.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in four games in Las Vegas.

The Hawks were eliminated in the second round by the Portland Trail Blazers, but not before Young leaving quite an impression.

This isn’t the first time that Trae Young has drawn the attention of the five-time NBA champion. Back when he was still in Norman, Young received an autographed Los Angeles Lakers jersey from Kobe Bryant himself.

Bryant is definitely sold on Young, who was taken by the Dallas Mavericks as the No. 5 pick of last month’s NBA Draft before trading him to Atlanta along with a future draft pick (protected) for Luke Doncic.
