Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young stole the show on Sunday with an incredible performance in Game 1 of their first-round playoff match-up against the New York Knicks. Young silenced the entire city of New York with a couple of ice-cold buckets down the stretch to help push the Hawks to gain a huge 1-0 advantage on the road.

After the game, the 22-year-old had a strong message for all the New York fans in attendance on Sunday night.

“When you're in the zone and everybody's chanting ‘f— you', I've had that a couple of times back in college and again tonight, and it got real quiet in the end,” Young responded (via NBA on TNT). “For me, I wanted to hear those ‘f— you' chants again.”

Young was hearing it from the 19,000+ in attendance in MSG from the get-go. Chants of “F– Trae Young” filled the arena since the opening tip and it's safe to say that that was enough fuel for the young star to finish strong.

But, as he always does, Young responded the best way he could. The former All-Star was big down the stretch, scoring and assisting in 21 points of the Hawks in the final quarter. Young ended with 32 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds while shooting 11-of-23 from the field. Not bad for a playoff debut, huh?

And, with the game on the line, the Texas-native was clutch and sank a go-ahead bucket with just 0.9 seconds left in the clock which ultimately gave the Hawks the 107-105 win. This is going to be an interesting series.
