There's a new Hawk in the ATL and Trae Young is pumped. The Atlanta Hawks welcomed back Lou Williams as the three-time Sixth Man of the Year finally made his Hawks debut on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs. Young was more than happy to have a seasoned vet like Williams in his squad and was particularly impressed with all the dimes the 34-year-old was dropping all game long.

“He is a super humble dude,” Young said of his new teammate (via Sarah K. Spencer of AJC). “All he cares about is winning and what he brings to the table is scoring and obviously passing, ya'll saw what he was doing tonight. He can pass.”

Williams brought in a bit of luck on his first game back in Atlanta as he helped the Hawks score a huge road win against the Spurs, 134-129. Atlanta needed two overtime periods to secure the W and Williams' 22 minutes off-the-bench was key for Young and the rest of the team. As the point guard mentioned, Williams was a key facilitator in his first win for his new squad. He dished out five assists and had seven points on a rather rough shooting evening.

The win puts the Hawks at .500 as they continue to hang on to the seventh spot of the Eastern Conference. And, with the middle of the pack neck-and-neck, the Low Williams addition might be pivotal for the Hawks as they try to climb up the rankings and secure home-court advantage for the upcoming 2021 playoffs.
