The Atlanta Hawks remain confident about the potential of rookie Trae Young. They don't regret trading for him, and he's starting to repay the team's trust. His individual performance over the last couple of weeks has been nothing but sensational.

But for Young, the Hawks are a more formidable team when he gets sophomore forward John Collins, as well as other guys involved on offense. In fact, Young told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that when the pick-and-roll game between him and Collins is properly executed, it is hard to stop.

“It’s hard to stop it. People try to stop it and it’ll work and we may not get a dunk every time. But that’s when I find corner 3’s. That’s when I find other shooters on the court. That has to open things up. You have to give up something. You are either going to give John a dunk at the rim or you are going to give Kevin Huerter a 3. Which one are you going to pick?”

It's hard to argue with Trae Young's point if he's talking about how John Collins is able to finish inside the rim after a pick-and-roll. However, the Hawks as a team needs to shoot the ball better, especially on the 3-point line. They are currently 17th in the league in 3-point field goal percentage at 35.2, and if they can't make open shots, teams will find the two-way game between Young and Collins easier to defend.

Still, both players have shown promise, and they are bound to make huge strides next season. If they continue to improve, Atlanta will be back in playoff contention in no time.
