Even with his team struggling to string wins, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young continues to pour in bucket after bucket in just his second year as a pro.

The 21-year-old scoring savant eclipsed a personal best on Thursday night, notching in a career-high 50 markers in the Hawks' surprising 129-124 victory over the Miami Heat at the Philips Arena.

Per the Hawks PR team, Young's feat was also the first for an Atlanta player since Shareef Abdul-Rahim back in 2001 against the Detroit Pistons.

Young was pretty much scorching throughout the entire 40 minutes he was on the floor, shooting 12-for-25 from the field (48 percent) and 8-of-15 from past the arc (53.3 percent). He also missed only one of his 19 trips to the foul line (94.7 percent).

The 6-foot-1 guard from University of Oklahoma also had eight assists, two rebounds, two steals, and one block.

The Hawks All-Star was extremely pumped up after his unbelievable performance. He gave his “Peachtree” game-worn jersey to hiphop superstar and Atlanta native Quavo, who was in attendance on Thursday.

After coming in as a runner-up to Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic in last year's tight Rookie Of The Year race, Trae Young has come to his own this year. He joined Doncic as an All-Star game starter in the recently concluded Team LeBron vs Team Giannis All-Star game at the United Center.

Despite Young's individual brilliance, the Hawks have been awful this year with a 16-41 slate (second-worst in the Eastern Conference).

Still, Atlanta finally has that franchise player in Young, whom they can build around in the coming seasons. Young is averaging 30.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 51 games this season.
