The Atlanta Hawks suffered a great blow after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the form of Trae Young injuring his right ankle in the process. However, the Atlanta superstar promised that he will be able to return to the team sooner rather than later.
Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution got to talk to the 21-year-old after the game and asked him about his condition ahead of the game. Ice Trae promised to Hawks fans everywhere that it wouldn't take long before he returns to the hardwood.
Young's absence will be a great loss to the Hawks' overall offense. He's a major cog in the machine, averaging 29.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 8.5 assists a night on 44% shooting and 37% from three. At such a young age, he's established himself as a star man that defenses have to game plan on.
Fortunately, John Collins is there to carry the team. He was rendered helpless against the Bucks, though, as he finished with nine points and 18 rebounds. With Young out for the foreseeable future, Collins will get more touches to get to where he wants.
However, the rest of the team would have to step up as well. Allen Crabbe did a solid job in carrying Young's shooting load, but he cannot do it alone. He needs the help of the entire Hawks roster in order to pull it off. Evan Turner and DeAndre' Bambry will be given more minutes during this stretch, and they must help the team in providing some much-needed playmaking. Cam Reddish must also step it up.
It will be a rough couple of games for the Hawks, but they must do what they can as they wait for the return of their star.
