Trae Young took matters into his own hands in the Hawks' Friday night victory over the Cavaliers. The guard scored an electrifying 38 points with 9 assists in the playoff-clinching win. Atlanta snuck into the play-in game following an up-and-down year.  But they steamrolled the competition thanks to big performances from Young. While a number of people were impressed by his play, it was head coach Nate McMillan who may have been the happiest person to see Young lead the Hawks.

He commented on Trae Young's jaw-dropping performance on Friday in Cleveland.

“I didn't see any panic in his play. Playing in big moments like this, he doesn't shy away from it. He looks forward to playing in games like this and being on this stage.”

“Ice” Trae has developed a reputation as a player who thrives under pressure. He is a go-to guy with the game on the line. That was certainly the case one again in the Hawks 107-101 win on the road over the Cavaliers.

The Hawks will face the Miami Heat in the first round of the postseason. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra discussed the mindset for facing Trae Young and the Hawks.

“Everybody has to be ready and on moment's notice. Thankfully, everybody has gotten opportunities to really contribute and feel comfortable about their role and they know where they can bring value.”

The Heat are the top seed in the East and are favored to win the series. However, the Hawks could make some noise with Trae Young leading the charge.
