The Atlanta Hawks have picked up options on the team's young core of John Collins, Taurean Prince, and DeAndre Bembry.

RealGM's Keith Smith tweeted out this development from the Hawks camp.

“The Atlanta Hawks have picked up 2019-20 team options for DeAndre Bembry, John Collins and Taurean Prince. These are 4th year options for Bembry and Prince. 3rd year option for Collins. All were expected. No change in my Hawks $37.5M 2019 cap space projection.”

Collins, 21, averaged 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds as a rookie for the Hawks last season. He has all the skills necessary to thrive as an excellent big man in today's game. An explosive leaper with a soft touch on the perimeter, the 6-foot-10 forward/center should be the Hawks' main man on the middle this year.

Prince, 24, is one of the best young two-way threats in the league right now. Despite being tasked to be the team's defensive anchor every game, Prince has drastically improved his offensive production last season. He posted impressive averages of 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a much-improved 38.5 percent clip from beyond the arc.

Bembry, 24, is a valuable asset for the Hawks because of his versatility on both ends of the floor. The 6-foot-6 defensive forward averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds last season.

The Hawks are arguably entering another season of rebuilding this year. They have started a youth movement centered on the trio of Collins, Prince and prized rookie point guard Trae Young. They will also have a new man at the helm in head coach Lloyd Pierce, who has since emphasized that the Hawks will employ a faster style of game this season.
