After a disappointing 2021-22 season that ended in a first-round playoffs exit, the Atlanta Hawks have made it known that they are going to make huge roster changes in the offseason. In fact, they are expected to be one of the most active teams in the summer as they look to upgrade the team around Trae Young.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, “league insiders consistently mention Atlanta as a team willing to make wholesale changes.” That means that beyond Young, everyone on the team is available for trade for the right player or assets.

Apparently, the Hawks have already explored potential trades for the likes of John Collins, Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari prior to the February trade deadline, and they might do so again this offseason. One thing going well for the team, however, is the fact that they have all the assets to chase for a superstar player.

The Hawks hold all their first-round picks plus a 2023 first-rounder from Charlotte, in addition to a series of contracts that can be stacked to match a maximum salary: Capela, John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, De'Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter.

For what it's worth, it has been reported earlier that the Hawks could make a move for disgruntled Phoenix Suns big man Deandre Ayton. The youngster is a restricted free agent seeking for a max contract, though, so it remains to be seen if Atlanta is willing to pay him big.

Zach LaVine is another named linked with the Hawks, but they are facing competition for his services since the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers could also be interested.

While what will happen in the offseason is uncertain, at least one thing is clear: the Hawks are ready to make a splash and make big changes.
