It seems like Lou Williams really loved his time with the Atlanta Hawks, so much so that he's ready to run it back with the team even with a massive pay cut.

All the Magic City jokes aside, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report claims that there is a good chance Williams returns to the Hawks after their strong run to the Eastern Conference Finals. What's interesting, however, is that the veteran playmaker and legendary sixth man is willing to take a veteran minimum deal to stay with the team.

Williams was traded to the Hawks from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Rajon Rondo midway through the 2020-21 season. He put up a total of 11.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 66 games with LA and Atlanta.

After the season ended, Williams already hinted that he wants to come back to the team.

Lou Williams had a pretty up-and-down stretch in the 2021 playoffs with the Hawks. He put up 7.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 18 postseason games for Atlanta–including two starts. He had his best moment with a 21-point, eight-rebound and five-assist performance in Game 4 of the East Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks, allowing them to tie the series at 2-2.

If the rumors proved to be true and he returns to the Hawks at such a huge discount, it would undoubtedly be a massive boost for an Atlanta team looking to keep John Collins as well.
