Up 124-123 against the Charlotte Hornets with 1.1 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Atlanta Hawks center John Collins came up with the game-saving block against Hornets star Kemba Walker. The block denied the two-time All-Star's floater attempt after the shifty point guard managed to skirt past Hawks small forward DeAndre Bembry.

It was a career game for Collins, who recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds while adding four assists and, of course, the game-winning block against Charlotte.

Atlanta's second-year center was one of Atlanta's most impactful forces in Sunday's game, with Bembry and Kent Bazemore adding 36 points and 11 assists on 16-of-21 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. Athletic, intelligent, and a reliable interior scorer, Collins is one of the few bright spots for the 4-16 Hawks.

Even before missing the game-winning attempt, Walker wasn't having his best night against the Hawks, getting off to a slow start and finishing the game shooting 7-of-23 from the field to notch 22 points — a sub-standard performance considering the leap he has taken to become one of the league's top scorers this season.

After missing the first few games of 2018-19, John Collins is slowly getting back to game shape. He's expected to break out in year two with the Hawks driving to develop their young talents.
