The Atlanta Hawks are virtually out of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference, but this season has not been for naught as their young core of Trae Young and John Collins continue to develop on-court chemistry.

That special connection between the two young stars was evident in their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves when Young connected with Collins for the reverse alley-oop slam.

Midway through the fourth quarter and with the Timberwolves leading by five points, Young perfectly set up Collins on a pick-and-roll play. The 2019 NBA Dunk contest participant then made no mistake with a huge reverse that sent the Hawks bench to their feet.

The two youngsters has undoubtedly gone a long way this season, and the success they are having hasn't gone unnoticed. In fact, there are already talks that they could be the next Steve Nash-Amar'e Stoudemire duo — not bad for two players who are years away from their prime.

Trae Young and John Collins finished the match against the Timberwolves with a combined 70 points. Young notched a near triple-double of 36 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, while Collins had 34 markers to go along with eight boards.

As an added bonus, Atlanta won the game in overtime, 131-123. The team is 3-3 in their last six games and has now improved to 21-41 on the season, 12th in the East.
