Vince Carter of the Atlanta Hawks is currently in the midst of his “farewell tour” in the final season of his storied (and record-breaking) 22-year career.

In Monday night’s game against the Orlando Magic, Carter received a standing ovation from the Orlando crowd:

This is a rare sight for multiple reasons. Foremost is the fact that opposing players rarely get standing ovations from a team’s home crowd, but Vince Carter is such an NBA legend at this point that his presence is lauded wherever he goes.

Beyond that, Carter is actually an important rotation player for the Hawks right now, especially considering that young star Trae Young is out with a right ankle sprain.

Clearly, NBA fans still love Vince – even if he doesn’t play for your team anymore. Seeing as this is his final season, everyone better enjoy watching him with the Hawks while they still have the chance.
