Blizzard's Hearthstone is currently halfway through its current event year – the Year of the Griphon. To celebrate the midway of the year, Hearthstone will be releasing its latest expansion soon. For more information on that, Blizzard prepared a reveal livestream for everyone to watch.

The livestream, which will go live on Twitch and Youtube, will start at 10 AM PT on July 1. The Hearthstone blog explains what fans can expect from the livestream:

“[Hearthstone] Lead Designer Alec Dawson will kick things off with an overview on what you can expect from Phase 2 of the Year of the Gryphon. From there, Game Designers Liv Breeden and John McIntyre will dive into what’s new in the upcoming card set. We also have some news to share for Battlegrounds. We’ve got plenty to talk about, you won’t want to miss it!”

Meanwhile, just to set expectations, Blizzard went upfront and said that they won't be having any news for HearthstoneMercenaries. “While we’re very excited with how things are coming together, we need more time to implement all the awesome content we’ve planned for the mode.” A dedicated stream on Mercenaries mode will come later this Fall.

The teasers for the new Hearthstone expansion look really festive, which might be a good thing for the war weary Alliance foot soldiers. We'll find out more details about the new expansion in the live stream, which will include details on its release date. What new Hearthstone cards would you like to see in the new expansion? How should Year of the Gryphon be like for the rest of the year?
