Even if they have missed out on the playoffs in two of the last three years, the Miami Heat have been one of the most successful franchises in the NBA since 2006, having won three championships and reaching the Finals a total of five times.

However this season, they are still struggling to win consistently, and have started the year slow. They suffered another loss on Sunday, but it was not just any other defeat.

With a losing margin of 25 points against the Indiana Pacers, 120-95, the Heat had their worst loss at home since 2009, according to Basketball-Reference.com. Although they’ve faced bigger deficits in the past, they have never been blown out by this much for more than eight years in South Beach.

This stat goes to show how competitive the Heat has been, especially at home. However, the Heat only managed to shoot 35.1 percent from the field on the night, and were already facing a blow out in the early minutes of the third quarter. Only two of their starters, Hassan Whiteside and Josh Richardson, finished in double figures in scoring, as Dion Waiters, Goran Dragic, and Justise Winslow all had subpar performances.

The Heat players have a lot of pride though, and it can be expected that they will bounce back quickly from this defeat, even more so with a big matchup versus the league-leading Boston Celtics slated for Wednesday.
