Washington Wizards All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal is getting recruited to the Miami Heat by big man Bam Adebayo, and it's all due to a tweet from Beal's past.

“I like the Heat over anyyy team,” Beal enthusiastically tweeted in January 2012 during the LeBron James-led Miami squad's dominant season.

Adebayo, the Heat's 21-year-old rising junior center, noticed the tweet, which was making its rounds on social media:

Bradley Beal, not a free agent this summer, has been the subject of many trade rumors as his Washington team rebuilds amidst the John Wall injury, which has the All-Star floor general sidelined deep into next season. Wall ruptured his Achilles tendon in January of this year when he slipped in his own house while recovering from surgery on his left heel.

This summer, the Wizards added Isaiah Thomas, Ish Smith, C.J. Miles, and draft picks Rui Hachimura and Admiral Schofield, among others, to a talent-barren roster—leading people around the NBA to speculate that the Scott Brooks-coached team could be parting with Beal in order to leverage a high demand for the excellent shooter.

It had been rumored that Beal's talents were being courted by the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks as the NBA remains relatively wide open after the the Golden State Warriors' 2019 NBA Finals demise and subsequent offseason, which included Kevin Durant leaving and Klay Thompson going down with a torn ACL.

Miami added four-time All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler to its squad over the summer in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, but if Bam's persuasive enough, maybe South Beach can welcome 2-guard Beal to its team, too.

However, as of now, the Wizards have shown zero interest in trading their star.
