After Goran Dragic exited Game 1 of the NBA Finals with an apparent foot injury, the Miami Heat suffered another huge blow as Bam Adebayo also sustained a shoulder injury.

Bam was going for a layup in the third quarter when he collided with Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard. He continued to play for a few more minutes, but the Heat All-Star center then felt more pain after he went for an offensive rebound for his own missed shot.

Bam Adebayo headed to the locker room afterward and has yet to return to the floor.

The 23-year-old big man has struggled in his first ever NBA Finals game, contributing only eight points (on 2-of-8 shooting from the field) and four rebounds prior to leaving the floor due to his injury. He was coming off a masterful game in their series-clinching win over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, putting up 32 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in Game 6.

Adebayo starred for the Heat in the entire East Finals series, averaging 21.8 markers, 11.0 boards, 5.2 dishes, 1.7 steals and 1.0 block per outing.

According to the latest update, Adebayo sustained a shoulder strain, forcing the Heat to rule him out for the rest of the game.

If it’s any consolation for the Heat, they have a few days off before Game 2, so their hobbled players can recuperate longer.
