Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D'Angelo Russell has some high praise for Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo.

On New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard J.J. Redick's latest podcast, Russell remarked that he's picking the Heat's Adebayo as the player to build his franchise around for the next 10 years.

Minnesota guard D’Angelo Russell said on J.J. Redick’s podcast that if he had to build a team for the next 10 years around one of the NBA’s young players, he would pick Bam Adebayo.

“Honestly, the way the league’s going, I’m going to go Bam, Bam Adebayo,” Russell said. “When you have somebody that big that’s so versatile at the defensive end and what he brings on the offensive end, it’s just the way the league is going. You see him guarding Giannis [Antetokounmpo] throughout the season, and he just made that matchup tough for him.”

Redick said: “That’s an incredible pick. I like it. I do think one of the most undervalued skill sets from a fan’s perspective . . . is guys who can guard multiple positions. Bam switches like one through five.”

Adebayo made his first All-Star team in 2019-20. The Heat big man averaged 15.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 55.7 percent from the field and 69.1 percent from the free throw line during the regular season.

The Hear star also racked up 40 double-doubles and three triple-doubles.

There are so many talented young players in the NBA, so the fact that Russell is picking Adebayo over the field shows you just how much players respect Bam's work ethic and talent.

Heat superstar swingman Jimmy Butler has said many times this season that Adebayo is the most important player in Miami. Now Butler, Adebayo, and the Heat are up three games to nil in the semi-finals.
