Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra gave high praises to his big man in Bam Adebayo who has shown improvements on the floor in the 2020-21 season. In an interview posted by Sports Illustrated, Spoelstra also mentioned that ‘you're looking at a superstar right now' when pertaining to Adebayo, implying that he's already made it to the same level as the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

The 23-year-old Kentucky product already earned his first All-Star selection last season. He also emerged as a budding star for a Heat squad that exceeded expectations and surprisingly reached the 2020 NBA Finals. Although the Heat were stopped in its tracks by the loaded Los Angeles Lakers team that eventually won the series on a 4-2 victory, Adebayo had, by then, proven that he's going to have a bright future in the NBA.

Moreover, Erik Spoelstra claimed that Adebayo has grown leaps and bounds since their previous stint in the Orlando Bubble, which was mainly due to his immense work ethic. He has reportedly improved exponentially and continues to do so while playing in his fourth campaign in the league.

Adebayo is currently averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists through 14 games played for the Heat. He would often be the top option on offense and even deal damage on the defensive end as well. However, his individual performance has yet to translate to wins as his squad continues to struggle with a 6-10 record.

Their slow start to the season was mainly due to the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which is affecting Heat star Jimmy Butler's availability. Butler has played in only six games thus far.

Erik Spoelstra is hoping that Bam Adebayo's continuous improvement will be key for his squad to make a deep run in the upcoming postseason once again.
