Miami Heat shooting guard Dion Waiters is active to play when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Dion Waiters has not yet played this season, as he has been recovering from the left ankle surgery he underwent in January of 2018.

Waiters played in 30 games last season. He averaged 14.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from the 3-point line before undergoing surgery.

It has been a long rehab process for Waiters, who has talked about how tough this injury has been for him both mentally and physically. With Dwyane Wade out on Wednesday, there's a chance we could see Waiters play for the first time in an NBA game since Dec. 22, 2017.

The Heat enter Wednesday with a record of 17-18, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami is 25th in the league in points per game, as they are only averaging 106.7 points per night. One thing we know is that Waiters loves to score, so he could be a big boost to the offense.

Waiters signed a four-year, $52 million deal with the Heat in 2017. He is making $11.5 million this season and has two more years left on his deal once this season ends.
