It looks like the Miami Heat will have the services of Dion Waiters for Wednesday’s showdown with the Phoenix Suns. According to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel, Waiters is expected to play in that game after a two-game paternity leave.

Waiters was absent in last Sunday’s game against the L.A. Clippers, though the Heat were able to pull off a 104-101 win without him. He also missed a chance to add to his legend as a Warriors killer Monday, when Miami absorbed a 97-80 loss at the hands of the defending champions.

Waiters will enter the date with Phoenix with season averages of 15.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.

With Waiters back in harness, Wayne Ellington could see his minutes greatly reduced after enjoying 28 and 27 minutes of floor action in the past two games.

As a new father, expect Waiters to be extra driven against the Suns even though motivation is the last thing he’ll ever lack.
