The Miami Heat will once again play shorthanded on Monday when they face the Golden State Warriors, as Dion Waiters is on paternity leave, following the birth of his daughter. This will be the second consecutive game he'll miss as he also wasn't present for the team's victory over the LA Clippers on Sunday afternoon. Taking his spot in the lineup is Derrick Walton Jr., who is the 12th active player on the roster.

The 25-year-old Syracuse product is expected to rejoin the Heat on Tuesday in Phoenix, where they will have a practice session ahead of their game versus the Suns the following day. Miami is in the midst of a six-game road trip, and their match on Wednesday will be the fourth game on the schedule.

Justise Winslow will most likely start in place of Waiters again, and could see extended minutes, along with Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington. They'll work together to make up for his season averages of 15.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals. With a win on Monday, the Heat will be back to .500 with a 5-5 record, and will carry a lot of momentum on their side for their next road games.
