Duncan Robinson isn't exactly a household name in the NBA. Although Miami Heat fans know him very well, it's not the same outside the city.

Unfortunately for Robinson, that also led to a hilarious encounter with a New York Knicks fan who didn't know him and showed him the ultimate disrespect.

In a video going viral on TikTok, Robinson appeared on The Long Shot podcast and shared the hilarious incident. While it was not clear when exactly it happened, the Heat star shared that he was staying in a resort to hold a basketball clinic and all guests were apparently notified about it.

During dinner along with Marcus Smart, a Knicks fan went up to them and showed excitement upon seeing Smart, believing he'll be the one to do the clinic. When the Boston Celtics guard said it's Robinson, the guy couldn't believe it and said “he doesn't hoop.”

The said Knicks fan further asked if Evan Fournier was going to be there, and when Smart said “no,” the guy said “pathetic.”

Given that the said Knicks fan was lookin for Evan Fournier, it likely happened during the 2021 offseason. However, this only makes us wonder how he did not recognize Duncan Robinson, who made a ton of headlines back then after he signed a five-year, $90-million deal with the Heat.

Of course Robinson isn't a star and the Heat don't get as much TV coverage as Marcus Smart's Heat, though the way the Knicks fan acted was definitely hilarious but quite rude at the same time. Maybe he thought Smart was trolling him?

Regardless, at least Duncan got a funny story from it that he can share.
