If the NBA season is truly over, barring any decisions about the rest of the regular season and playoffs, then second-year Miami Heat forward Duncan Robinson had a heckuva sophomore campaign in 2019-20, averaging 10.0 more points than his debut season last year. More than anything in leaving your mark on the Association is what happens when you interact with the league's stars—and Robinson's humorous anecdote on “meeting” Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James is just about right given the distance in stardom between the two professional athletes.

Per New Orleans Pelicans veteran shooting guard JJ Redick's podcast on The Ringer, via Heat Nation,

“No, no,” Robinson answered after Redick asked if James acknowledged him. “I think he (James) actually, he was guarding me, we played them earlier in the season. At this point I hadn’t really done much, but he was guarding me and then he was just sitting in the paint, and I made a shot, and he kind of scoffed at me.”

Few people are worth “King James” attention, and despite Robinson's, 25, uptick in productivity this season, the former Heat two-time NBA champion and current Lakers star didn't both to give the forward a proper acknowledgement.

Before Commissioner Adam Silver suspended the current NBA season due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Heat were able to get their twice-a-year matchups with the Lakers in, losing in both tilts. Robinson, a former undrafted Michigan product picked up as a free agent in 2018 by the Heat, averaged six points and three rebounds while facing off with James.
