Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade recently announced that this would be his last season in the NBA. The three-time champion posted a video on social media vowing to return for “One Last Dance.” Just how efficient Wade will be in his final stint remains to be seen, but the developers at NBA 2K19 have given him an overall rating of 79.

By most accounts, Wade, now 36 years of age, is one of the greatest shooting guards the league has ever known. He's racked up several prestigious accolades over the course of his career, including 12 All-Star nods, one scoring title (2009), two All-NBA First Team selections, and one Finals MVP (2006).

Wade has spent 13-plus seasons with Miami, and most fans of the team consider him to be a “Heat lifer.” In fact, Dade County, FL is often referred to as “Wade County.” The former Marquette Golden Eagle says he is going to give “everything he has” in his go-round.

“I feel it's right to ask you guys to ask you to join me for one last dance, for one last season,” Dwyane Wade said. “I've given this game everything that I've had, and I'm happy about that. And I'm gonna give it for one last season, everything I have.”

Wade split the 2017-18 regular season between the Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. In 67 games played, “Flash,” as he's come to be known, turned in averages of 11.4 points on 43.8 percent shooting from the field (28.8 percent from beyond the arc), 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and just under one steal (0.9) in 22.7 minutes per outing.

What this season holds for Wade remains to be seen, but there is no doubt he appreciates the opportunity to suit up in a Heat jersey for at least 82 more games.

“This is the hardest decision I've had to make,” Wade said in his video post. “But it's one of the best decisions I've had to make as well. I feel it's right to ask you guys (the fans) for one last dance.”
