Dwyane Wade is a Miami Heat legend. After winning the franchise's first championship in 2006 alongside Shaquille O'Neal, Wade became forever embedded into the Heat's rich history. Wade was also responsible for recruiting his best friend LeBron James to join his team, and the duo won two titles together in 2012 and 2013 alongside Chris Bosh.

Though, after a bitter divorce with the Heat in 2016 after failed contractual negotiations, Wade took his talents to the Chicago Bulls. He only spent one year there and soon headed to spend another year with James on the Cavaliers.

Now, Wade is back in Miami and appears to be staying for the long haul now that he is 36 years old. Different from the aggressive player he was in 2016, Wade is now content with taking a backseat role for the Heat as they are trying to make the postseason and raise a new heat generation.

In fact, Wade has expressed that he will continue to come off the bench in favor of Tyler Johnson, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

At shooting guard, Wade said Wednesday that he will continue to come off the bench behind Tyler Johnson. Spoelstra values his ball-handling and tangible and intangible skills with that second unit.

That starting group of Whiteside, Richardson, Olynyk, Dragic and Tyler Johnson – a quintet used before Olynyk’s injury – was a plus one in 75 minutes, and is shooting an impressive 50 percent from the floor.

Unlike 2016, Wade apparently is now ready to take a lesser role for his team. The Heat have to be grateful for the sacrifices that Wade is making for the betterment of his team.
