Retired NBA superstar and Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has inadvertently turned himself into an internet meme, following his stint as a judge in the 2020 NBA SlamDunk Contest at the United Center last February.

Wade's unintended infamy came to life when he gave SlamDunk participant Aaron Gordon a score of 9 following an extremely difficult jam over Boston Celtics' 7-foot-5 beanpole Tacko Fall.

That final dunk's score ultimately cost the Orlando Magic high-flyer the tournament, as Wade's former Heat teammate Derrick Jones Jr. of the Heat took home the hardware.

Since then, fans have been fondly throwing jabs at the Heat icon online, giving Wade a “9 out of 10” for almost every activity he shares on social media.

In an Instagram live clip on Saturday, Wade once again addressed the memes while speaking to Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. Wade and Curry's respective wives, Gabrielle Union and Ayesha Curry, were on the call as well.

“I have so many people comment on everything I do like ‘I give that a 9 out of 10' and I'm all: Do you know that a 9 out of 10, I'd take that any day of the week. Absolutely, any day of the week man,” Wade shared.

“The Flash” also asked Curry if he thought Gordon should have been declared the winner based on his last dunk alone.

“That dunk was not his best but he should have won. He had a better body of work. I understand the dilemma. I just know Aaron Gordon should’ve won,” the two-time MVP for the Dubs said.

Months after the competition, Wade continues to be accused by some fans for his supposed bias towards Jones. “Airplane Mode” did, in fact, complete several impressive jams of his own, but pundits believe his attempts were repetitive and inferior compared to Gordon's.

Wade also reminded his detractors that he also gave Jones a score of 9 in one of his earlier attempts.

Last week, Wade kept his stand and explained why he thought AG didn't deserve a perfect score after supposedly failing to clear Fall.

As great as his legacy on the hardwood is, Wade will likely be remembered for this judging incident for years to come. Sorry Flash, but the internet truly never forgets.
