The Miami Heat were flat out steamrolled in Game 1 of their matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, it appears “Father Time” was in shooting guard Dwyane Wade's favor in Game 2.

Just as it has been all season, the Wells Fargo Center was raucous with the hopeful cheers of Sixers fans. Needless to say, it did not last long after Wade closed out the game for a 113-103 victory.

The veteran star says he hopes the feeling of silencing crowds gets passed down from generation to generation, via NBA TV:

“To be able to hush a whole crowd, that’s a great feeling. That’s a feeling I hope my son feels one day.”

Philadelphia had all the momentum going into Game 2 after stellar performances from their young core. Leading the way for the Sixers was once again the pairing of point guard Ben Simmons and power forward Dario Saric. Although the Heat managed to hold a solid lead throughout the majority of the game, Simmons and Saric nearly completed a comeback in the fourth quarter after finishing the game with a combined 47 points and 18 rebounds.

However, any hope they had of escaping with a win vanished as soon as Wade checked back into the game with just over four minutes left. He managed to fend off the late resurgence with a number of key plays to the dismay of Sixers fans in the arena.

Needless to say, vintage D-Wade was in full effect after finishing with 28 points on a stellar 11-of-16 shooting that was enough to move past Larry Bird in the all-time playoff scoring ladder. He also tacked on seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals off the bench. If Miami is going to maintain the home-court advantage, they will need Wade to continue his clutch play moving forward.
