In his final season in the NBA, Dwyane Wade is thoroughly enjoying his farewell tour.

Other than receiving waves of rapturous applause from his fans all over the country, Wade is playing a significant role for the Miami Heat as they cling onto the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Ahead of today’s game against eh East-leading Milwaukee Bucks and MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo, Wade was at first listed as questionable due to a bruised right elbow.

However, according to a  Ira Winderman of the the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Wade will indeed play tonight against the Bucks.

Using the overused axiom of “if the Playoffs started today,” the Bucks’ first-round matchup would be against the Heat — though each game Miami plays down the stretch is a do-or-die situation with the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets breathing down their neck in the standings.

Dwyane Wade is currently the team’s third-leading scorer at 14.1 points per game, behind Josh Richardson’s 17.2 and Goran Dragic’s 14.7. It must be noted that Dragic has only played 21 games this season, however.

Despite being 37 years old, Wade is still an integral part of this Heat team. In fact, he helped Miami helped Miami defeat the Golden State Warriors on one of the most improbable buzzer-beaters in NBA history — a banked-in, one-footed prayer that somehow went in as time expired.

Legendary stuff from one of the greatest shooting guards of all time.
